Civil Design Engineer – Water & Utilities

Overview

As a Civil Engineer at Arup Leeds, you will own design packages and their commercial aspects, collaborating with clients and colleagues to deliver high-profile civil projects. You’ll coordinate design activities and smaller internal initiatives while mentoring junior engineers. Responsibilities

• Own and manage design packages and projects, including quality and commercial responsibilities
• Collaborate with clients, customers and colleagues to achieve agreed outcomes
• Coordinate events, activities, processes and smaller internal projects
• Mentor and support junior engineers and assume increasing leadership responsibilities
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary delivery across water, utilities or transport projects
• Support digital design and BIM efforts through tools like Civil 3D, AutoCAD/MicroStation, InfoDrainage and GIS
• Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to design challenges
• Promote sustainable, innovative engineering solutions

Key requirements

• Civil Engineering Degree (Class 2.1 or above)
• Working towards or achieved a recognized professional qualification
• Civil engineering design experience in water, utilities or transport
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD/MicroStation, InfoDrainage, GIS; interest in BIM/digital design
• Experience managing design packages/projects with quality, commercial and client responsibilities
• Ability to supervise, mentor and support junior engineers and take on leadership
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaborative skills
