Lead Full Stack Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design and deliver scalable cloud-native software solutions for diverse clients, partnering with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust architectures. You’ll lead technical directions, mentor engineers, and uphold secure-by-design practices. You’ll drive architecture discussions, code quality, and continuous improvement across multiple engagements. This is a hands-on leadership role at a company known for AWS expertise and impact across startups to enterprises.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers
• Lead architecture discussions and design sessions for new features or projects
• Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes and methodologies
• Evangelise a ‘security by design’ approach to all elements of software development
• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable software solutions
• Collaborate with customer product managers/owners, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Bring a technology perspective to a broad range of client issues, demonstrating how technology can be used to address problems and realise opportunities
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using appropriate technologies and frameworks
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production environments
• Playing a role in automated testing and providing feedback to management during the development process

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with Back End development using Node.js (ideally), or Java
• Front end development skills with JavaScript, React, Typescript
• Working knowledge of Agile and Lean software delivery methodologies and basic UI/UX design principles, including prototyping
• Strong technical mindset with the ability to design and build scalable solutions, visualize proposed systems, and deliver high-quality, maintainable code
• Provide technical leadership across projects and establish best practices for software development
• Confident engaging with clients, discussing technical requirements, and proposing value
• Proven track record in mentoring and developing engineering teams
