Digital Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you design and develop digital electronics for defence and electronic warfare, contributing to national security, while collaborating across projects and domains. You’ll own the engineering lifecycle for digital subsystems, from requirements to verification, and support customers with demonstrations and acceptance testing. The work blends hands-on debugging with formal design reviews in a challenging, purpose-driven environment. This is a chance to shape state-of-the-art electronics in a trusted defence context.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering lifecycle for digital subsystems in defence and EW projects
• Manage requirements for digital subsystems and high-level/ detailed design to meet requirements
• Perform simulations to de-risk designs and plan tests to verify requirements
• Hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of digital and analogue designs
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
• Participate in design reviews and document specifications, tests, and results
• Design digital system manufacturing jigs

Key requirements

• 3+ years of digital electronic design experience with complex, high-speed designs
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field
• Knowledge of analogue circuit design desirable
• Experience with hardware verification and debugging techniques
• Familiarity with defence standards, security protocols, and EW principles an advantage
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
