Manufacturing Engineer – Lean Continuous Improvement

Overview

In this role you drive continuous improvement and lean transformation within Roke’s Defence Team, applying Lean Six Sigma to optimise processes, reduce lead times and costs, and elevate quality. You will coach teams, lead CI initiatives, and embed a culture of ongoing efficiency across electronics, hardware assembly and testing operations. The role offers scope to shape bi-directional collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders in a security-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean and CI projects to improve productivity, lead time and quality
• Drive problem resolution using PSP, 8D, RCA, DMAIC tools
• Identify and facilitate Lean initiatives across Defence Team; communicate project status
• Identify, escalate and manage risks and opportunities to improve processes
• Promote continuous improvement culture and CI framework with stakeholders
• Provide Lean Six Sigma coaching and mentoring
• Implement PFMEA, 5S and Asset Care for operational processes
• Support Supply Chain and Production with electronics/hardware assembly testing troubleshooting
• Assist non-conformance root cause analysis and resolution
• Work with cross-functional teams and drive major change projects

Key requirements

• Degree in relevant field
• Strong computer-based literacy
• Green/Black Belt – Lean Six Sigma
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and CI tools knowledge
• Experience leading change management projects
• Understanding of electro-mechanical assembly and testing principles
• Experience with automated and manual measurement across Test Equipment
• Troubleshooting product non-conformances
• Experience with PSP, 8D, RCA, DMAIC
• MRP tools experience (IFS advantageous)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Cross-functional collaboration experience
• Experience driving large-scale change initiatives
