Overview

In this role you ensure final product quality before customer tests, acting as the voice of the customer during factory PDI and Buy-Offs. You will drive continuous improvement across assembly and supplier quality, connecting engineering insight with manufacturing performance. You’ll lead root-cause investigations, monitor KPIs, and support audits to embed quality into processes. This position offers meaningful impact in a precision-led manufacturing environment, with cross-functional collaboration at its core.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure final product quality prior to customer testing and act as the voice of the customer during factory PDI and Buy-Offs
  • Promote accountability for quality across process owners
  • Drive problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality
  • Investigate non-conformances and improve right-first-time performance across assembly and supplied parts
  • Support supplier quality and complaint processes; assist Purchasing in developing supply chain capability
  • Contribute to PPAP and supplier performance management
  • Monitor and report Quality KPIs
  • Support internal audits of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001 & 14001)
  • Provide analysis to inform senior leadership decisions

Key requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a complex design-to-order engineering organisation in a quality-focused role
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and process control techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and production techniques; experience diagnosing manufacturing faults and non-conformances
  • HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Formal Quality training (e.g., CQI/IRCA trained auditor) preferred but not strictly required
