Senior Project Manager – Civil Engineering

Overview

In this role you will drive the successful delivery of a prestigious heavy civil scheme, coordinating the integrated project team and ensuring commercial and programme targets are met. You’ll lead HSQE management, manage procurement and subcontracting, and report progress to internal stakeholders. The position sits within a longstanding civil engineering contractor known for high-profile projects and a strong pipeline of work. This is an opportunity to shape delivery on a major project and work with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

• Own the business results of the project and define project organisation
• Communicate project requirements to the team and set stretch targets
• Establish client/representative communications and coordinate information flow
• Lead HSQE management and approve IMS plan
• Manage procurement deadlines, contracts, and subcontractor awards
• Oversee project controls, change management, and programme reviews
• Coordinate recruitment and training needs for the project team
• Provide periodic commercial and delivery reporting to stakeholders

Key requirements

• Degree or HND in Engineering
• Experience as a Project Manager on civil projects
• Commercial, financial, project and programme management experience
• Excellent leadership and tendering skills
• Strong numeracy and IT skills (MS Office)
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels and work well in a team
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
