Overview

As Senior Project Manager you will lead the profitable, on-time delivery of industrial automation projects for a key account in Slough, coordinating cross-functional teams and maintaining strong client relationships. You will drive governance, risk and cost control while upholding safety and quality standards, shaping the project portfolio and contributing to the business unit’s long-term growth. This role sits at the leadership level, partnering with the Client Account Manager to identify opportunities and deliver operational excellence. You will work across multiple sites, influencing strategy and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of automation and control projects for the Slough account
• Act as principal PM interface, building strong client relationships
• Support Client Account Manager in achieving account objectives and growth
• Manage multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, commissioning and subcontractors
• Drive governance: planning, forecasting, risk, quality, change control
• Oversee budgets, cost control, invoicing, forecasting and commercial claims
• Ensure contractual compliance and manage project risks and opportunities
• Maintain high health, safety and environmental standards
• Coordinate FAT, SAT and commissioning through to handover
• Lead continuous improvement across project delivery
• Mentor development of PMs and engineers
• Contribute to Business Unit strategic planning and growth

Key requirements

• Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale automation, process control or electrical control system projects
• Strong commercial awareness: budgeting, forecasting, change management and claims
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management
• Solid knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation and industrial electrical systems
• Experience with project planning, governance, risk management and quality processes
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
• Engineering or project management qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to Slough and client sites
