Overview

In this role you will promote and uphold regulatory compliance and ethical standards across the London Bank Branch. You will act as a subject-matter expert on Financial Crime Prevention (AML/CTF and sanctions) and support the Head of Compliance in managing regulatory risk and liaising with regulators. You’ll lead monitoring, reviews, and governance activities to improve controls and ensure timely issue resolution. This position offers the chance to shape the bank’s compliance culture in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ongoing transaction monitoring for higher-risk clients
  • Escalate suspicious transactions for review
  • Perform periodic compliance reviews across business units
  • Execute Control Effectiveness Testing (CET) in high-risk areas
  • Identify, address, and close control gaps to mitigate risk
  • Provide AML/compliance advisory to business teams
  • Recommend process or policy improvements and communicate findings
  • Deliver training and guidance on improvements
  • Validate monitoring strategies to ensure governance
  • Draft and submit regulatory reports on FinCrime and compliance matters

Key requirements

  • 2-3 years of relevant banking/AML compliance experience
  • In-depth knowledge of AML compliance and applicable rules
  • Certification in AML/FCC or Compliance
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree would be of added advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Personal integrity and ethics
  • Good judgment in providing compliant, risk-aware advice
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills

  • MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency
