In this role you will deliver and maintain Java-based solutions for Deloitte’s Technology & Transformation practice, enabling data-driven client programs. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java codebases
• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and maintenance
• Engage and provide technical insight during system design
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions
• Write well-documented code and contribute to technical documentation
• Troubleshoot issues in live services and resolve complex production problems
• Stay up to date with the latest Java technologies and best practices
• Communicate complex technical topics effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
• Actively contribute to the engineering community

Key requirements

• Proven Java development experience (including JVM-based languages like Kotlin and Scala) with experience using advanced Java features and mentoring others
• Experience with Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Boot)
• Experience designing, developing, and securing RESTful APIs with threat assessment
• Solid understanding of OOP (SOLID), design patterns, and secure coding practices
• Experience deploying and managing applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience using version control strategies (Git)
• Understanding of system performance monitoring and diagnosing performance issues
• Experience using CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions)
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

• Ability to understand task requirements, dependencies, and prioritise work
