Overview

In this role, you lead the design, implementation, and refinement of liquidity forecasting and management models within Wise’s Treasury team. You’ll drive data-driven solutions to optimise liquidity usage across regions and products, collaborating with cross-functional partners to scale models and inform strategic decisions. You’ll tackle risk-aware forecasting, stress preparedness, and real-time liquidity insights, contributing to Wise’s mission to move money efficiently for customers worldwide. This is a hands-on, high-impact role with a clear hook in optimizing cash placement and risk across a multi-region product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop supply and demand forecasts and embed them into real-time money movement processes across multi-region product portfolios
  • Perform rigorous data analysis to improve liquidity efficiency and balance sufficiency with excess
  • Collaborate with engineering to implement scalable models in the treasury backoffice
  • Create bespoke models for stress events and new product launches
  • Build models to understand liquidity consumption by products and translate risk scenarios into actionable insights
  • Document and present model results and risk assessments to senior stakeholders and the Risk team

Key requirements

  • Strong Python knowledge and ability to read and understand code
  • Proven collaboration with engineers
  • Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data warehousing
  • Knowledge in statistics, machine learning, linear algebra, or optimisation
  • Autonomous work style with a strong product mindset and cross-functional collaboration
  • Good communication skills for non-technical audiences
