Overview
In this Accounts Senior role, you’ll manage a diverse client portfolio within a well-established Newport practice. You will lead and contribute to audits, prepare financial statements for various entities, and oversee a small team to ensure quality and timely delivery. The position blends technical accounting with people management, offering growth as the firm expands. Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Lead and support audits from planning through completion
- Manage and review the work of a team of ~5 staff with mentorship
- Ensure accuracy and deadlines align with compliance standards
- Prepare and review tax returns
- Foster strong client relationships as a primary contact
- Assist in improving internal processes and team efficiency
Key requirements
- Proven experience in an accountancy practice in a similar role
- Audit experience essential
- Previous team management or supervisory experience
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and tax regulations
- Proficient in Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero
- Strong organisational skills with multiple deadlines
