Lead Delivery Manager (Public Sector)

Overview

In this role you will lead complex digital transformation programmes within the Public Sector and Healthcare portfolio. You will shape outcomes through strong governance, empower delivery teams, and support account growth for key clients. You work at the intersection of strategy and delivery, aligning programmes with strategic goals and measurable user impact. This position offers the chance to influence large-scale citizen and patient services while collaborating with senior stakeholders. You will drive continuous improvement and contribute to bids and proposals with a focus on delivering value and quality.

Responsibilities

• Programme Delivery Leadership: drive multi-million-pound transformations from initiation to outcomes
• Governance and Assurance: establish robust governance, manage risks and issues
• Commercial Management: forecast, report, and maintain profitability metrics
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: engage senior stakeholders with evolving priorities
• Account Growth and Business Development: support growth through strategic bids and client opportunities
• Innovation and Process Improvement: promote new tools, methods and efficiencies
• People Leadership: develop and support delivery teams and foster wellbeing

Key requirements

• Minimum 7 years in programme or delivery management leading complex digital transformations
• Proven track record delivering multi-million-pound programmes on time and within budget
• Senior-level stakeholder management (Director/CxO) and influencing capability
• Experience leading multidisciplinary, agile delivery teams
• Experience supporting business development and bids/tenders
• Commercial acumen with understanding of delivery economics in multi-supplier ecosystems
• Experience establishing governance frameworks and quality standards
• Broad knowledge of digital trends and modern software delivery practices
• Resilience under pressure and ability to balance client expectations with team wellbeing
• Willingness to travel within the UK
