Assistant Manager (Asphalt Plant)

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily asphalt plant operations to meet production targets, safety standards, and customer expectations
• Lead and develop the operational team, managing performance and budgets
• Maintain health, safety, and environmental standards across the site
• Manage planned preventative maintenance of fixed and mobile plant
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
• Control budgets, costs and financial performance
• Maintain stock control processes and operational reporting
• Implement and review SOPs, risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks and investigations as required
• Manage contractor controls, inductions and site compliance
• Monitor site KPIs and drive performance improvements
• Support development and training of site personnel
• Ensure compliance with Quarry Regulations and industry standards

Key requirements

• Proven leadership and people management skills
• Strong health, safety and environmental mindset with experience in safe working procedures and risk assessments
• Experience driving operational performance and continuous improvement
• Budget management and cost control experience
• Knowledge of production processes and operational compliance
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Good IT skills, including SAP andMicrosoft Office
