Principal Town Planner

Overview

As Principal Town Planner at AECOM, you lead major infrastructure planning applications across the UK, focusing on DCOs and energy transition projects. Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in the delivery of major development applications
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams
• Submit and manage planning applications; liaise with local authorities and stakeholders
• Provide planning advice on consent requirements and permitted development rights
• Produce feasibility reports and consent strategies; write Planning Statements and Design and Access Statements
• Contribute to business development and client relationship building; support tender preparation
• Collaborate with Environmental Impact Assessment team; participate in stakeholder meetings
• Oversee project management with focus on quality and health & safety compliance

Key requirements

• Degree in Town Planning
• Membership of RTPI or equivalent
• Significant experience leading planning consent applications for large infrastructure
• Experience with client and stakeholder relations; ability to develop new business
• Excellent written communication; ability to work under pressure
