Overview

In this role you will lead the World Foods category within Tesco’s Grocery strategy, driving growth across drinks, ambient, chilled and frozen. You will develop customer-focused ranges, strengthen supplier partnerships and steer planning for cultural and seasonal events. You will own end-to-end category performance, leveraging trade plans, market insights and data analytics to win share in a competitive market. You will collaborate across functions to deliver a compelling customer proposition while delivering a strong P&L and long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end category P&L and deliver key KPIs (sales, profit, volume, market share).
  • Identify and secure savings through robust supplier negotiations for Buy for Less.
  • Develop and execute a leading trade and promotional plan to drive category growth and customer penetration.
  • Shape World Foods’ strategic vision with clear category plans across channels.
  • Continuously optimise the product range with first-to-market innovations and strong performance.
  • Manage supplier partnerships and co-create Buy, Move, Grow plans for mutual value.
  • Utilise data and analytics to identify opportunities, diagnose risks and guide decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally for seamless execution and strong customer proposition.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to stay competitive.

Key requirements

  • End-to-end category ownership including P&L, forecasting, trade planning and KPI delivery.
  • Supplier management with negotiations and cost price management.
  • Range, pricing and promotions management to maximise performance and value.
  • Strong analytical capability using sales, customer, market data for data-led decisions.
  • Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams.
