Category Manager – Technology

Overview

In this role you lead technology procurement across a broad portfolio, shaping category strategies and partnering with senior technology and digital leaders. You will drive cost savings, supplier performance, and risk management while enabling digital transformation and innovation. You’ll work with cross-functional teams on major technology investments and transformation programmes. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term technology procurement strategies
• Create category roadmaps aligned to business/tech objectives
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, supplier innovation and value creation
• Utilise market intelligence to support strategic decision-making
• Support digital transformation and technology growth initiatives
• Lead complex sourcing programmes and competitive tenders
• Negotiate high-value contracts and commercial agreements
• Deliver measurable savings and governance improvements
• Build relationships with IT, Finance, Legal and operations to influence investment decisions
• Drive procurement excellence and transformation across technology categories

Key requirements

• Significant experience in Procurement, Category Management or Strategic Sourcing
• Proven track record of developing and implementing category strategies
• Strong negotiation and contract management expertise
• Experience managing complex, high-value supplier relationships
• Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders
• Strong commercial, financial and analytical capability
• Experience delivering cost savings and procurement transformation initiatives
• Desirable: Technology procurement across Software/SaaS/Cloud/Infrastructure
