Project Manager – Rail

Overview

Experienced Project Manager with a strong rail civils background to lead safe, high-quality delivery of rail infrastructure across the Network Rail estate. You will be accountable for programme, cost, quality and customer outcomes while embedding standards across delivery teams and supply chains. You’ll manage cradle-to-grave delivery, ensure governance and close-out, and engage customers with clear, professional updates. This contract role emphasizes safety, compliance, and timely, value-driven project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of rail infrastructure works, from initiation to handover
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, to high quality, within budget and on programme
• Close out project deliverables on time and with proper governance
• Attend and present at customer progress meetings with clear, professional communication
• Promote clear values and expected behaviours across the team and supply chain
• Ensure full compliance with standards, policies, procedures, and customer governance processes

Key requirements

• Proven project management experience delivering rail infrastructure
• Strong civils background (heavy civils / rail civils)
• Experience working on Network Rail infrastructure
• Working knowledge of NEC Option A contracts
• Experience using CEMAR
• End-to-end delivery experience from initiation through handover/close-out
• Degree-qualified Engineer (or equivalent)
• Valid PTS and CSCS
