Senior Cost Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead cost management for infrastructure projects in Ireland, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting and cost control. You will collaborate with client and contractor teams to drive value, manage change, and support governance across projects. You will apply commercial expertise to deliver on KPIs and tender final accounts, contributing to high‑impact civil infrastructure deliverables. This is a client‑facing, senior role within a global, inclusive firm that values proactive problem solving and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Establish professional relationships with clients and project teams
• Administer contracts per project objectives
• Provide accurate cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting
• Monitor cost variance and cash flow, process applications timely
• Collaborate with client and contractor teams on deliverables, KPIs, and value engineering
• Manage contract changes ensuring governance and best practice
• Improve forecast and budget accuracy
• Provide commercial knowledge and support to stakeholders
• Negotiate and finalise final accounts
• Lead people and commissions as needed

Key requirements

• Numerate and proficient in Microsoft Excel and contract administration software
• Experience in pre- and post-contract roles: cost planning, procurement, contract formation, post-contract cost control, contract administration, value management/engineering, risk management and final accounts
• Qualified graduate in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience
• Experience on large civil engineering projects in rail, water or aviation (or other large civil infrastructure projects)
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts
• Chartered via RICS or SCSI
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to influence at senior levels
