Senior Software Engineer, AI & Platform APIs (Remote, International)

Overview

In this dual-focus role, you will split time between advancing AI-enabled features on GCP and strengthening core platform APIs in Java. You’ll ship real LLM-backed capabilities into PulsePoint portals while modernizing production-grade Java services. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to scale AI tooling, improve developer practices, and maintain robust REST APIs. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position within the Portals / Platform Engineering team, offering exposure to cutting-edge ML and enterprise-grade backend work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deployed LLM-backed features in PulsePoint portals on GCP, including tooling and AI-assisted development practices
• Build and maintain production REST APIs using Java 21 / Spring Boot 3.4, including design, testing, and reviews
• Drive legacy modernization efforts for Java-based services
• Create and operate MCP/tool-calling capabilities and AI tooling integration where applicable
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI initiatives with platform needs and business goals

Key requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Shipped a real LLM-backed product to production (not demos/POCs)
• Hands-on experience with GCP and Kubernetes (Cloud Run, IAM, Secret Manager)
• Strong production-grade Python capabilities
• Strong production Java development with Spring Boot, REST services, testing, and reviews
• Experience with AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) and automating real work with them
