Principal Fire Engineer

Overview

In this Principal Fire Engineer role, you lead fire safety projects across sectors, applying CFD and evacuation modelling to deliver designs from inception to completion with minimal oversight. Responsibilities

• Deliver projects from inception to completion with limited senior oversight
• Conduct CFD modelling, evacuation modelling, and other analytical fire engineering tasks
• Manage design projects and review peers’ work
• Apply experience across sectors with emphasis on UK regulations and markets
• Develop innovative approaches to solve problems using modified or prior methods
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables
• Lead cost estimation for technical efforts on projects
• Oversee SMART goal setting and performance reviews for junior engineers

Key requirements

• Relevant degree or professional qualification
• Chartered status (CEng) in Fire Engineering or related discipline
• Experience in a consultancy or similar environment
• Experience managing fire engineering aspects of small to medium design projects within time and budget
• Ability to guide entry-level fire engineers
• Experience preparing fee proposals and task variations
