Overview

In this role you will manage the day-to-day cost management for a multi-phase data center program, ensuring accuracy and commercial discipline. You’ll partner with project teams, contractors and consultants to keep budgets aligned with design and delivery needs. You’ll drive cost reporting, risk reviews, and change management while supporting procurement and value engineering. This is a chance to shape large-scale, mission-critical construction with a focus on value, control and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day cost management activities for a multi-phase data center program
  • Prepare and maintain cost plans, budgets, and estimates across packages and stages
  • Act as key client interface, coordinating with project teams, contractors and consultants
  • Support procurement activities: issuing RFPs, reviewing proposals, scope reviews, commercial negotiations
  • Lead cost reporting: monthly reports, cash flow forecasts, commitment tracking, risk reviews
  • Oversee change management: review, negotiate, reconcile change orders
  • Support value engineering and design-to-budget initiatives during design and delivery
  • Provide cost input into scheduling, risk, and project controls processes
  • Maintain benchmarking, cost databases, and historical cost records
  • Mentor junior cost managers and quantity surveyors

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field
  • 6–8+ years of cost management, quantity surveying, or project controls experience
  • Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical, industrial, or complex commercial construction projects
  • Strong skills in cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost control systems
  • Good understanding of procurement processes, construction contracts, and commercial risk
  • RICS accreditation or progress toward certification preferred
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Solid analytical abilities with high attention to detail and accuracy
