Real Estate Legal Director

Overview

In this role, you will lead sophisticated real estate transactions within a market-leading Real Estate Investments practice. You will work with top clients, including PE real estate funds and institutional investors, to drive complex deals and shape strategy. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll manage multi-partner matters and mentor junior lawyers. This position offers high-profile, cross-border work and a clear path to grow the practice and your profile within the firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise complex corporate M&A transactions in real estate, including cross-border and portfolio deals
• Structure, establish, operate, restructure and exit real estate JV and indirect investment structures
• Act for PE real estate managers, institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, REITs and developers on high-value transactions
• Advise on acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, refinancings, exits and asset/portfolio management
• Draft and negotiate SPAs, joint venture agreements, and related documents
• Manage workstreams, timetables, conditions precedent and multidisciplinary teams
• Build client relationships and support pitches, BD initiatives and thought leadership
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and trainees to support development

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 6+ years’ PQE
• Strong PE Real Estate, Corporate Real Estate, Real Estate Investments or Real Estate M&A experience
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills across complex real estate transactions
• Commercially minded with client relationship and business development capabilities
• Collaborative, well-organised and able to own complex matters and develop the practice
