Production Supervisor

Overview

As Production Supervisor you will lead a small operations team to meet monthly plans and ensure smooth production flow. You’ll work with the Production Manager to deliver targets, monitor performance via KPI’s and maintain a safe, well-organised shop floor. You’ll drive 6S/FOD compliance, manage labour and overtime, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues. This role sits at the heart of a defence/aerospace manufacturing environment, offering hands-on leadership, continuous improvement opportunities and meaningful contribution to mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities

• Report on team performance to the Production Manager
• Align production priorities and communicate them clearly
• Create a healthy, motivating work environment for the team
• Listen to team members and resolve issues or conflicts
• Manage time effectively for self and team
• Conduct monthly/quarterly performance and development reviews
• Maintain training awareness and attend required courses
• Adhere to Company Procedures
• Assist in shop order paperwork and route cards as needed
• Ensure shop order turnaround time is met
• Close completed shop orders and move parts into stock
• Scan completed paperwork into the MRP system
• Maintain 6S and FOD program across the team
• Identify skill gaps and maintain a skills matrix
• Coordinate with cross-functional support to manage non-conforming materials and production issues
• Ensure safe use and management of equipment
• Agree overtime requirements in advance with the Production Manager
• Carry out other duties as reasonably requested

Key requirements

• 3 years’ experience within an Aerospace/Defence environment
• Supervisor or similar role leading a small team
• Self-motivated and organised with a results-driven approach
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with MS Office applications
• Previous experience with an MRP system
• General awareness of IPC workmanship standards
• Proven CI/Lean Manufacturing experience
