Overview

In this Founding Software Engineer role you will shape both technology and product in a fast-growing AI startup. You’ll own the design and development of cloud-native applications, spanning backend, frontend, and deployment on Azure, working closely with the founding team. You’ll influence technical direction and establish engineering practices for scalable growth. The position offers hands-on autonomy and a strong impact on product decisions and engineering culture. Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, cloud-native applications across the full software development lifecycle
• Lead architecture and backend services, plus frontend development, CI/CD, and deployment on Azure
• Collaborate with the founding team to steer technical direction and engineering practices
• Work primarily with Python and TypeScript, leveraging AI technologies to build products
• Own coding and implementation with hands-on input on product decisions and architecture

Key requirements

• Strong technical skills with Python
• Experience with RESTful APIs (FastAPI preferred)
• Knowledge of TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS3 (beneficial)
• Experience with LLMs and agentic AI, proactive and entrepreneurial spirit
• Curious, fast learner, comfortable in a startup/unstructured environment
• Collaborative with good communication skills
• Degree educated, minimum 2.1 at BSc from a top-tier university; Computer Science or related field preferred (MSc/PhD advantageous)
