Sustainability Engineer/ Consultant- London or Bicester

Overview

In this role you will drive sustainability outcomes for building projects, applying LEED and BREEAM assessments and leading sustainability appointments under the RIBA Green overlay. You will work across design teams and across offices to collect data, produce technical reports, and support bids, helping clients realise zero-carbon and sustainable built environments. You will engage with stakeholders, research best practices, and contribute to the firm’s global delivery and client service ethos. This is a chance to shape sustainability strategy on UK projects within a collaborative, mentoring environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct LEED BD+C and BREEAM assessments
• Lead or support sustainability appointments under RIBA Green overlay with emphasis on LEED/BREEAM
• Review evidence and analyze data; produce reports, meeting minutes, technical documents and action lists
• Coordinate with other offices and delegate work as needed
• Perform independent research to support the sustainability team and wider business
• Assist with project bids and tender preparation with design teams
• Support SS&CC team to meet business/project deadlines
• Collect ESG data and perform analysis

Key requirements

• Good working knowledge of LEED BD+C and BREEAM
• LEED AP and/or BREEAM AP qualifications (advantage)
• Qualifications in WELL, Fitwel, NABERS, ISO 50001/2, ISO 14001, LCEA level 5, EPC, TRUE, DNGB, IES, PAS 2080, LCA (advantage)
• Degree level or equivalent in engineering/environmental discipline
• 12-18 months’ experience delivering sustainability projects with external stakeholders
• Understanding of UK construction and planning processes; interaction with planners advantageous
• General understanding of Building Services design and industry terms
• Ability to produce high quality written reports; meet deadlines and budgets
• Prioritisation and flexibility to travel to site meetings/inspections
• Strong MS Excel/Word/Outlook skills; proficient with online collaboration tools
• Experience with Tracker Plus and project collaboration software (4projects, ACC)
• Clear presenter in person and on video; attention to detail; QA/ISO knowledge (advantage)
• Background in consulting or construction; familiarity with international operations
