Senior SHEQ Manager

Overview

As Senior SHEQ Manager, you will support the delivery of a cross-site Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Sustainability and Wellbeing strategy. You will provide expert guidance to operational leaders and help embed a proactive safety culture across multiple sites. You will drive compliance with UK and Ireland legislation and company policies while leading continuous improvement and capability building. This role offers influence on strategic SHEQ objectives and meaningful impact on safety performance and organisational learning.

Responsibilities

• Support Serious Injury & Fatality prevention and ensure high standard of Critical Control Health
• Guide Human and Organisational Performance (HOP) implementation
• Develop, implement and continually improve SHEQ, sustainability and wellbeing strategies and policies
• Promote a proactive safety culture with visible leadership and accountability
• Collaborate with leaders to integrate SHEQ objectives into business plans
• Ensure compliance with UK and Ireland health, safety, environmental and quality legislation and internal policies
• Interpret regulatory requirements and support practical implementation
• Lead incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Identify, assess and manage organisational risks with effective controls
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to SHEQ professionals and leaders

Key requirements

• Significant SHEQ experience in a complex, multi-site engineering, industrial or construction environment
• Experience with Serious Injury & Fatality prevention strategies and Critical Control Health
• Practical understanding of Human and Organisational Performance principles
• Experience in construction, engineering, industrial, heavy equipment or related sectors
• Comprehensive knowledge of UK and Ireland health, safety, environmental and quality regulations and best practice
• Strong sustainability and environmental management knowledge
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
• Knowledge of risk management, assurance and incident investigation methodologies
• Understanding of organisational change management and cultural transformation
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with collaborative style
• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities
• Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH)
• Degree qualified, or equivalent, in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering or related discipline
• Experience leading teams and building SHEQ capability
• Track record of measurable safety performance improvements
