Overview

As Property and Real Estate Manager in the Midlands and South, you will lead a underwriting team to grow Chubb’s Real Estate portfolio. You’ll combine underwriting expertise with people leadership, client management, and commercial decision-making to deliver profitable, sustainable growth. You will ensure high-quality broker and client service while aligning with company standards and cross-functional execution. This role offers visibility within a global insurer and a chance to shape real estate risk strategy and client solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop an underwriting team for strong performance and growth
  • Oversee underwriting of new business and renewals in line with guidelines and appetite
  • Manage underwriting for Property and Liability risks for Real Estate clients, including complex accounts
  • Maintain key client and broker relationships with proactive engagement and service
  • Support Real Estate financial planning, forecasting and performance tracking
  • Collaborate with claims, risk engineering, global services and other underwriting teams for integrated client solutions
  • Ensure compliance with policy docs, contract certainty, peer review, audits and regulatory requirements
  • Promote best practice and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Represent Chubb at broker and client meetings and internal discussions
  • Contribute to strategic growth plans and cross-selling opportunities across products

Key requirements

  • Significant Property and Liability underwriting experience, ideally within Real Estate
  • Strong leadership experience with ability to coach and develop a team
  • Proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders internally and externally
  • Commercially minded with decision-making capability and initiative
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Desire to develop both technical and broader business skills
  • Multinational experience beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent knowledge of the Real Estate insurance market and competitor landscape
