Overview

In this core Java role, you’ll build and optimize high-performance backend services for an asset management platform. You join a lean, engineering-led team, collaborating with founders and senior engineers to shape scalable infrastructure. Expect hands-on work across the stack, architecture discussions, and rapid iteration in a live, client-facing environment. You will help drive performance, reliability, and product quality in a fast-moving fintech setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance backend services using Core Java
• Collaborate with a compact, capable development team
• Optimize performance and troubleshoot production issues across the stack
• Lead on testing, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices
• Participate in technical architecture discussions, code reviews, and product planning
• Contribute to front-end components and help shape broader system architecture

Key requirements

• Strong proficiency in Core Java and object-oriented design
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems
• Understanding of front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or similar) is a plus
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and data modelling
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and modern DevOps workflows
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment
• Financial sector or asset management knowledge is a bonus, not required
