Overview

As Hygiene Area Manager, you will oversee daily and long-term hygiene within a defined production area, ensuring GMP-compliant cleaning and food safety practices. You will lead hygiene teams, drive manufacturing targets, and manage resources and waste. You’ll collaborate with production and other functions to support KPIs across quality and cost, while embedding a strong safety culture. This role offers the chance to shape hygiene practices at scale within a respected, collaborative family business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop hygiene teams including training, performance management and shift coordination
  • Achieve hygiene KPIs across standards, micro performance, people, quality and cost
  • Plan and execute safe and effective cleaning procedures to reduce microbiological risk
  • Maintain chemical supplies and ensure proper usage per CICs and manufacturer guidance
  • Coordinate with production and other functions to support manufacturing targets
  • Uphold high standards of waste management, segregation and environmental compliance
  • Promote Health & Safety culture across hygiene tasks
  • Support investigations into hygiene or microbiological issues and implement corrective actions

Key requirements

  • Experience in a supervisory or management role within a food manufacturing environment (preferably in both High Risk and Low Care)
  • Strong understanding of GMP, hygiene standards and food safety requirements
  • Confident leadership skills with ability to coach, motivate and develop teams
  • Resilient with a proactive, solution-focused approach
