Overview
In this role you will perform in-depth credit analysis of public entities, focusing on local and regional governments and GREs in the EMEA region. You will work within the International Public Finance (IPF) team to broaden issuer ratings coverage and contribute to research and rating reports. The position offers cross-regional collaboration, exposure to rating committees, and opportunities to influence Fitch’s public finance franchise. You will engage with issuers and monitor macro trends, with travel within the EMEA region as needed.

Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth credit analysis of public entities (LRGs and GREs) using financial statements and qualitative information
- Monitor a portfolio of ratings, present credit views and rationales at rating committees, and prepare rating reports
- Contribute to drafting research reports with insights on key credit issues and trends
- Monitor regulatory changes, macroeconomic trends, and market dynamics for credit implications
- Participate in regular credit review meetings with issuers’ senior management
- Support the team with ad-hoc analyses and other research initiatives
Key requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in credit analysis or related financial services roles
- Coverage focus on CIS+ countries and Türkiye; professional fluency in Russian and/or Turkish (essential)
- Professional fluency in English (essential)
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present findings clearly
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects
