Director of Clinical Services

Overview

In this role, you provide operational and clinical leadership to deliver high-quality care aligned with Priory’s quality strategy. You will oversee clinical governance, audits, risk management, and safeguarding to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement. You’ll work with internal and external stakeholders to uphold patient safety and experience while supporting service development and policy implementation. This leadership position focuses on building a positive safety culture and driving high performance. You’ll engage with cross-functional teams to shape care quality and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical governance across the site, including audits, governance reporting, and incident investigations
• Oversee safeguarding, risk management, restrictive practice reduction, and continuous quality improvement
• Support regulatory inspections and service improvement plans
• Coordinate staff training and coaching to uphold high standards of care
• Monitor patient and carer experience and ensure contractual quality requirements are met
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to policy development
• Promote a positive safety culture through shared learning and organisational development

Key requirements

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or Health and Care Professions Council
• A recognised post-registration qualification with full membership/accreditation of a relevant professional body and evidence of CPD
• Desirable: experience in a related environment
