Overview

As Director in Applied AI, you shape growth and lead a portfolio of AI programs for Telecoms, Media & Technology clients. You will originate opportunities, build market offerings, and sponsor multi-disciplinary teams to deliver secure, responsible AI outcomes. You act as an executive advisor to C-suite stakeholders, driving commercial success and capability development. This role sits at the intersection of AI strategy, governance, and delivery, with a clear impact on client performance and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Own the TMT Applied AI growth strategy across priority accounts and lead pursuit teams from relationship development to close
• Scale market-facing offerings (GenAI, advanced analytics); define value propositions, pricing, and delivery models
• Advise C-suite on AI-enabled business and operating-model change; translate model capabilities into measurable outcomes
• Provide executive sponsorship for complex multi-workstream AI programmes with governance and benefits realisation
• Set standards for secure/deployable large language models; embed controls, testing, monitoring, and data protections
• Champion Responsible AI and regulatory readiness including governance for privacy, bias, explainability, and third-party model use
• Develop and retain senior consulting talent; manage commercial performance, utilisation, quality, and margins
• Lead, collaborate with alliance and engineering leaders to industrialise AI solutions

Key requirements

• Track record of leading and closing large, complex consulting sales in Technology/Media/Telecommunications
• Deep understanding of generative AI and modern AI stack (LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, vector DBs, MLOps)
• Experience providing executive oversight for production AI delivery; accountability for outcomes and risk
• Strong sector experience applying AI to high-impact TMT use cases (telco ops, network planning, content ops, developer tooling)
• Understanding of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise deployment considerations
• Exceptional executive communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and represent Deloitte in leadership forums
