Senior Underwriter – US Delegated Authority & Professional Lines

Overview

In this role you will own and manage a US delegated portfolio across Professional Lines, Allied Healthcare and Cyber within a London team. You will balance hands-on underwriting with portfolio performance, business planning and strategy, while building key trading relationships with MGAs, coverholders and brokers. You will also mentor and develop other underwriters, expanding portfolio ownership and leadership within an established international insurer. This is a practitioner-leadership role with broad scope and measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a US delegated portfolio across Professional Lines, Allied Healthcare and Cyber
• Drive portfolio performance, business planning and underwriting strategy
• Develop and nurture trading relationships with MGAs, coverholders and brokers
• Support and develop other underwriters within the team
• Lead broader portfolio ownership and contribute to business growth within the insurer

Key requirements

• Experience across Professional Liability, E&O, Healthcare/Medical Malpractice, Cyber or Financial Lines
• Exposure to delegated authority, binders, programs or MGA business
• Leadership experience or readiness to lead and oversee a portfolio
• Strong stakeholder management with MGAs, brokers and coverholders
