Utilities Services Manager

Overview

As Utilities Services Manager you will lead the coordination of utility services for a residential development in London, aligning with the pre-construction and operations teams. You will set strategy for utility provision, manage supplier relationships, and oversee a small team to deliver timely connections and services. You will work on site constraints, design review stages, and risk assessments to ensure smooth utility delivery and compliance. This role offers impact through shaping utility strategies and collaborating across disciplines to support ambitious development goals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain procedures and guidance documents
• Create look-ahead plans with timings and actions for utilities services
• Assist pre-construction with third-party engagement and site constraint assessments
• Provide technical input to early-stage designs during land due diligence
• Engage utility suppliers for budget quotations and best-point-of-connection solutions
• Progress PoC with suppliers to secure future connections and loads
• Support new Water, Gas and Electrical loads and electrical sub-station requirements
• Stay updated on industry changes, legislation, and G81 updates
• Review utilities design and provision at RIBA design stages 2, 3 and 4
• Assess utilities requirements (builders work, fire protection, ducts, ventilation, etc.)
• Coordinate with Construction for temporary services and obtain quotes

Key requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience with all Utility disciplines
• Experience planning and coordinating services or site activities
• Experience managing a small team
• Site experience
• Good understanding of Electrical aspects of Sub-Stations, cable sizing, 3-phase supplies, HV/LV
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate MS Office knowledge
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
