Principal Electrical Engineer

Overview

As Principal Electrical Engineer in our Water Solutions team, you will shape electrical and ICA design for water and wastewater projects across major frameworks. You’ll lead multidisciplinary delivery from feasibility to commissioning, ensuring technical quality and strong client relationships. You will manage budgets, schedules, and teams, with opportunities to influence long-term AMP8/AMP9 programmes. Responsibilities

• Design and review electrical and ICA components for water/wastewater projects; provide specialist guidance
• Deliver feasibility studies, outline and detailed design, construction and commissioning support
• Maintain high technical quality, contribute to bids, manage client relationships
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to implement solutions
• Lead and mentor engineers; oversee direct reports and foster technical excellence

Key requirements

• BEng or MEng in Electrical Engineering
• Chartered Member of a relevant Professional Institution
• Proven experience in producing, reviewing, and approving eng reports, designs, drawings, specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills with ownership of complex technical issues
• Excellent client and stakeholder engagement; experience in team leadership, mentoring, and line management
