Senior Bid Writer

Overview

In this role you will lead and craft compelling bids for complex infrastructure projects, helping Ferrovial win major contracts. You’ll collaborate with SMEs, bid directors, and engineers to produce high-quality responses aligned with client requirements and scoring criteria. The position sits within a global infrastructure group that values collaboration, innovation, and a strong emphasis on winning competitive tenders. Responsibilities

• Lead author/bid writing on forthcoming PQQs and tenders
• Ensure high-quality, fully compliant responses aligned with scoring criteria
• Coordinate with SMEs to gather evidence and meet deadlines
• Challenge SME content when under-delivered and escalate appropriately
• Develop key messages, themes, and value-added concepts with bid team
• Collaborate with external writers and clients when needed
• Support BD tasks such as marketing collateral and case studies
• Analyze requirements to ensure bids meet all specifications
• Coordinate technical aspects of the bid process and track activities
• Maintain a database of standard proposal responses
• Provide competitive intelligence on clients and competitors
• Ensure bidding qualifications are maintained
• Catalog bid department information and templates

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field
• Proven experience as a Bid Writer or Senior Bid Writer
• Track record of securing major contracts through high-quality bids
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong grammar and editing skills
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Strategic thinker with proactive, results-oriented approach
• Understanding of UK public procurement processes (PQQ, ITT, RFQ)
