Overview

As an Executive Director in Standard Chartered’s Clean Tech & Environment M&A Advisory team in London, you will lead origination and execution of strategic mandates across Digital Infrastructure, Power & Utilities, and broader infrastructure. You will advise financial sponsors, funds, utilities, developers, and investors on M&A and capital raises, contributing to franchise growth and high-quality deal delivery. You will collaborate with country, sector, and product partners to drive cross-border transactions in the EMEA region. This role suits a proven deal-maker with strong BD, client management, and M&A pedigree in infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Originate M&A, strategic advisory, capital raising and JV opportunities across Digital Infrastructure, Power & Utilities, and broader Infrastructure sectors
  • Maintain senior client relationships with financial sponsors, infrastructure funds, sovereign wealth funds, strategic corporates, developers, and operators
  • Prepare sector insights, pitch materials, and client dialogue to support business development and origination
  • Lead client engagement from early-stage opportunity identification through mandate award and transaction completion
  • Lead end-to-end execution of M&A mandates, including valuation, financial analysis, due diligence, negotiations, and documentation
  • Ensure deal teams deliver high-quality materials, clear advice and timely execution against client objectives
  • Coordinate internal approvals, conflicts, compliance, legal, risk and governance processes relevant to advisory mandates
  • Manage external advisers and coordinate multidisciplinary workstreams across jurisdictions
  • Lead and supervise deal teams made up of Directors, Assistant Directors and Associate
  • Coach junior team members and support their technical, execution, and client-facing development
  • Set high standards for judgement, integrity, collaboration, execution discipline, and client service

Key requirements

  • Significant investment banking, corporate finance or strategic advisory experience with a track record in Digital Infrastructure M&A or broader Infrastructure M&A
  • Proven origination and execution of complex cross-border transactions
  • Strong senior client relationship skills with boards, shareholders, and senior executives
  • Deep understanding of European infrastructure markets, including investors and transaction precedents
  • Strong financial analysis, valuation, negotiation, communication and project management skills
  • Ability to lead teams and manage multiple mandates in a fast-paced advisory environment
