Residential Property Lawyer / Conveyancer – Exeter

Overview

In this role you will handle a varied residential property caseload within a respectful, high-performing law firm. You’ll work closely with clients and professionals to progress conveyancing transactions and ensure compliance across processes. Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of residential property matters (freehold/leasehold, new builds, shared ownership)
• Handle transfers, buy-to-let, remortgage and auction transactions
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and reports on title
• Conduct property searches, verify titles, and prepare client reports
• Liaise with clients, lenders, agents, surveyors, and other professionals
• Oversee registrations, SDLT submissions and file closing
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and AML procedures

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (with practice rights), or Licensed Conveyancer
• Strong technical and drafting skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to manage matters independently
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Organizational and proactive mindset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal IT systems
• Experience in a law firm supporting fee earners
