Senior Quantity Surveyor – London Underground Projects

Overview

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will commercially support a £40m London Underground project for a main contractor. You will drive cost control, reporting, and value-focused commercial decisions within the project’s commercial team. You will manage subcontracts, change control processes, and risk registers to protect margins and ensure delivery in line with policy. The role offers scope to influence efficiencies and financial performance on a high-profile transport scheme. This is a permanent position with a path to lead the commercial effort on large-scale infrastructure work.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts and contract budget reports
• Maintain effective, accurate cost control
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and opportunities and report to Project and Commercial Managers
• Maintain risk registers and contingencies
• Review value management proposals
• Implement COSTAIN Commercial Policy and procedures
• Support change control with timely information
• Manage subcontracts from order to final account
• Prepare, review and complete subcontract documentation
• Prepare and agree interim applications for payment
• Manage the commercial team

Key requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management
• Main contractor experience
• Experience on TfL / Network Rail projects
• At least 7 years post graduate experience
• Must be seeking a permanent position
