Overview

As a Consultant in our Cost Assurance team, you’ll review actual costs and drive supply chain efficiency across major construction programmes in Europe. You’ll support senior colleagues, develop client relationships, and mentor junior team members while shaping the service line through bids and training. Expect to perform assurance reviews, analyse complex contracts, and deliver data-driven findings that strengthen governance and value. Responsibilities

• Deliver assurance reviews on major construction projects to verify contractual compliance and control effectiveness
• Analyse supply chain systems, contract administration and entitlement across programmes
• Perform data testing and use visualization tools (PowerBI/Tableau) to identify trends and opportunities
• Produce concise written findings and recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders
• Support client relationships, bid development, and business generation activities
• Lead and mentor junior team members to foster development and capability
• Contribute to internal training, product management, and service-line improvements
• Engage with supply chains to promote collaboration and implementation of assurance recommendations
• Assess client commercial controls and governance against best practice and contractual requirements
• Review and assist with commercial matters including variations, claims, forecasting, and risk allocation

Key requirements

• Assurance or audit experience in construction, commercial, or accounting settings
• Knowledge of NEC3/4 (Option C, E) and cost-reimbursable contracts (FIDIC, IChemE)
• Ability to review cost accuracy and entitlement under contracts
• Experience with change management and forecast control
• Data analysis skills with large data sets; PowerBI/Tableau experience preferred
• Strong report writing and ability to convey complex messages clearly
• Team work experience with managing workload and peaks/troughs
• Confident presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
• Professional scepticism and independence to safeguard service quality
• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent; membership of MRICS/ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent preferred
