Head of Process & Quality Assurance

Overview

In this role you will own Refresco UK’s Quality and Food Safety framework, ensuring product safety, authenticity, and compliance across operations. You will lead the Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QESH) function and partner with site teams to drive consistency, continuous improvement, and a strong quality culture. You will oversee FSQMS governance, supplier quality, and audit-based assurance to sustain high standards. This is a strategic, multi-site leadership role with a meaningful impact on customer trust and product quality. You will shape quality practices at scale and support NPI and sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

• Govern FSQMS, including document control, audits, and CAPA.
• Provide independent oversight of operational quality controls across sites.
• Manage external accreditation audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead internal laboratory audits and maintain competency verification programs.
• Drive quality culture and improvement plans across the UK network.
• Oversee Supplier Quality Assurance, approvals, onboarding, and audits.
• Monitor supplier quality metrics, complaints, and technical reviews.
• Develop and monitor KPI frameworks and support NPI readiness.
• Coordinate VACCP activities with Procurement and NPD.
• Coach and train sites to strengthen technical and quality capability.

Key requirements

• Experienced quality leader with proven track record in food safety and quality systems within FMCG manufacturing.
• Influential, commercially aware and capable of cross-site leadership.
• Strong governance, audit, and CAPA management skills.
• Experience with supplier quality management and NPI support.
