Chemical Process Engineer

Overview

In this role you support chemical surface treatment operations for aerospace components, helping to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient plating and film processes. You will develop expertise in chemical processing and NADCAP-related standards within a world-class manufacturing environment, working closely with experienced teams to drive quality and efficiency. You’ll mentor, document, and troubleshoot to ensure consistent product quality and process capability. Responsibilities

• Support and develop chemical surface treatment processes (plating, passivation, chromating, phosphating, blasting, cleaning)
• Drive NADCAP audit readiness, collect evidence, and close audit findings and corrective actions
• Monitor and maintain process controls: chemical bath composition, dosing, filtration, temperature, agitation
• Investigate issues with root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions
• Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, control plans, operating procedures
• Provide training and technical support to production teams
• Support environmental, health and safety compliance relating to chemical handling and waste
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, waste reduction, and process capability

Key requirements

• Technical or engineering background
• HNC/HND in Engineering (or related)
• Exposure to manufacturing, metal finishing, plating, or surface treatments
• Understanding of pH, conductivity, or titration techniques
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven approach
• Attention to detail and documentation skills
• Good communication and collaboration across teams
• Proficiency with Excel and computer-based systems
• Desirable: aerospace manufacturing experience, AS9100 knowledge, NADCAP audits, plating thickness/adhesion/corrosion testing, environmental compliance
