Associate Principal – Health Economist/HTA Expert – UK and EU

Overview

In this senior role you drive HTA strategy and market access for pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device clients. You’ll lead complex HTA programmes, shape service offerings, and build senior client relationships to support evidence-led access and reimbursement. You’ll work across global and regional teams to translate data into compelling value stories for payers. This is a high-impact, leadership-forward opportunity within IQVIA’s HTA practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of global/regional HTA programmes with limited supervision
• Advise clients on HTA evidence planning, market access strategy, and reimbursement optimisation
• Guide clients through evolving HTA requirements (EU Joint Clinical Assessments, national submissions, scientific advice)
• Shape IQVIA’s HTA offerings in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence for HTA Evidence and Strategy
• Maintain senior-level client relationships and identify opportunities to expand accounts
• Support business development including proposal scope, pricing and contracts with senior input
• Provide executive oversight across multiple concurrent projects ensuring quality and client satisfaction
• Lead senior client discussions, steering committee interactions and risk mitigation across engagements
• Collaborate with internal IQVIA teams (Market Access, data studies, local teams) to deliver HTA evidence
• Coach and mentor consultants and emerging leaders; support recruitment and capability development
• Lead thought leadership on HTA topics (conferences, white papers, publications)
• Represent IQVIA at industry conferences and client forums
• Contribute to team strategy, portfolio, and potential expansion into other areas

Key requirements

• 8+ years in consulting, pharma, HTA agency, academia or related environment
• Extensive experience preparing evidence strategies and HTA submissions for UK/Europe
• Proven success managing complex client engagements and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong commercial track record in client development, proposals, scope and budget
• Understanding of pharmaceutical and life sciences industry; established HEOR/HTA networks desirable
• Leadership, coaching and capability-development skills; line management desirable
• Excellent written and verbal English communication
• Knowledge of clinical trial design and statistics; evidence synthesis methodology desirable
• Quantitative skills in biostatistics and health economic modelling; knowledge of STATA or R desirable
• Experience in consultancy environment desirable
