Project Manager – Coventry – Civil Rail – Network Rail Station Upgrade

Overview

In this role you will lead a civil rail project focused on station upgrades, starting in Coventry and later moving to the South West. You will guide the integrated project team to deliver on time, within budget, and to HSQE standards, shaping project delivery across multiple sites. You’ll manage client relations, procurement, and contract execution, driving risk control and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role in a large rail construction environment with a clear focus on results and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the project’s business results and success
• Organise the project team and define responsibilities
• Communicate project requirements to the team and stakeholders
• Set challenging targets for the team and monitor progress
• Establish and maintain communications with the client/representative
• Coordinate information flow among the project team and third parties
• Implement the project management system and lead HSQE activities
• Approve the IMS Plan and appoint duties
• Oversee contract programme, procurement deadlines, and works packages
• Contract management and supervision of progress; change management and risk evaluation
• Represent the project to internal stakeholders with reporting and financial updates
• Support recruitment and identify training requirements

Key requirements

• Degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or similar
• Previous experience as a Project Manager on Civil Rail projects
• Project management experience
• Excellent leadership and tendering skills
• Valid Full UK Driving licence
