Associate/Sr Associate-Energy Projects – Bristol – 5+ PQE

Overview

In this role you will influence major energy and infrastructure projects within a renowned commercial practice. You’ll integrate with cross-disciplinary teams to drive procurement, contract design, and regulatory advisory, while building long-term client relationships. You will support decarbonisation and net-zero agendas and mentor junior lawyers, contributing to the ERM group’s growth. Responsibilities

• Lead on the procurement and delivery of ERM projects
• Draft, negotiate and finalise complex commercial contracts
• Advise clients on commercial, strategic and regulatory issues
• Collaborate with an integrated advisory team across multiple disciplines
• Build long-term relationships with public and private sector clients
• Support the UK’s decarbonisation, sustainability and net-zero agenda
• Supervise junior team members and contribute to team development

Key requirements

• 5+ years PQE
• Strong commercial contracts or PFI/PPP experience
• Private practice or in-house experience in relevant sectors
• Excellent technical legal skills and commercial judgement
• Ability to manage complex issues pragmatically and effectively
• Confidence leading day-to-day client interactions
• Experience supervising junior lawyers
• Interest in business development and growing client relationships
