Overview

In this role you will lead the development and deployment of scalable digital pathology workflows and AI-enabled image analysis for oncology biomarkers. You’ll work with cross-site teams to advance HALO AI workflows and RareCyte Orion pipelines, translating image outputs into actionable biological insights. The position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, innovation in tissue imaging, and delivering robust, reproducible analyses for translational projects. This is a chance to shape image-based biomarker strategies across Cambridge and Basel within a leading oncology research program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy scalable workflows for whole-slide pathology data acquisition, processing, analysis, and interpretation
  • Apply AI/ML and quantitative image analysis to biomarker and translational questions in human and preclinical samples
  • Provide expertise in digital pathology, spatial analytics, and AI-enabled biomarker quantification across oncology programs
  • Evaluate emerging computational imaging approaches to strengthen biomarker capabilities and data delivery
  • Serve as SME for HALO and HALO AI, driving cross-site harmonization between Cambridge and Basel
  • Establish robust, reproducible analytical processes and improve data organization and sharing across teams
  • Build and optimize AI/ML models for whole-slide, multiplexed, and high-plex tissue imaging
  • Develop pipelines for RareCyte Orion high-plex data and integrate with translational datasets
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams to design, analyze, and interpret tissue-based studies

Key requirements

  • PhD or MS in biology, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, computational biology, data science, pathology, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience
  • Significant experience in digital pathology, computational image analysis, imaging data science, translational oncology, or tissue-based biomarker research
  • Expertise with HALO and development of AI/ML models for tissue images
  • Proven success applying advanced imaging solutions to pathology workflows, including high-resolution whole-slide datasets
  • Strong understanding of tissue-based biomarker development, oncology biology, and translational research
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to engage stakeholders and drive next steps
