Overview

As a Cost Controller/Engineer in our Energy & Natural Resources division, you will oversee cost control across multiple work packages and projects, ensuring budgets, schedules, and quality standards align with client objectives. You will integrate cost reporting with project controls to support informed decision-making within an integrated project team. Your work will impact financial forecasting, risk, and governance across complex energy projects. Responsibilities

• Review contractor cost control processes and performance to ensure alignment with budgets
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of cost tracking (actuals, commitments, forecast costs)
• Maintain contract and commitment registers showing cost ceilings and forecast positions
• Develop and coordinate monthly/annual spend forecasts with variance analysis
• Consolidate cost performance data for timely reporting to senior management
• Ensure integration of financial data within enterprise and project systems
• Support contracts and work orders administration including cost estimates and payments validation
• Produce integrated cost reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute cost data and analysis to strategic planning and forecasting
• Provide technical and administrative support to the Contract Manager
• Manage service requests via appropriate systems and processes
• Monitor project costs with detailed variance analysis against targets

Key requirements

• Professional project controls experience with Cost Engineering/Control
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress reporting, forecasting and analysis
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities to influence and develop teams
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; professional certifications in cost management or project controls are advantageous
• Experience in cost control and contract management across pre- and post-award phases
• Solid understanding of project management principles in complex environments
• Strong English communication skills; additional languages advantageous
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of SAP
• Ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation
• Strong analytical ability to interpret technical, financial, and legal documentation
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond to changing project requirements
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of ethics, governance, and cross-functional collaboration
