Overview

As a reporting and operations specialist in London, you will own and enhance regulatory and management reporting, driving data-informed decisions across Underwriting, Operations and the broader business. You’ll oversee end-to-end regulatory returns and ELTO processes, ensuring timely sign-off and audit readiness. You’ll shape reporting tools and insights to support governance, data quality, and performance monitoring while mentoring teammates and advancing process improvements. This role sits at the intersection of underwriting, data analytics and regulatory compliance, offering meaningful impact within a global insurer.

Responsibilities

  • Own and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and KPIs for internal monitoring and management review.
  • Manage end-to-end regulatory returns (ATIA, GAREAT, PMD) and ensure timely submission for sign-off and regulators.
  • Record Employers’ Liability policies on Syndicate systems and handle ELTO reporting and ELTO audits.
  • Create insights from reporting portfolios to enable data-enabled decisions in Underwriting and Operations.
  • Act as system administrator for e-placement platforms and SDC; manage user access and updates.
  • Support test approaches with Testing function for UAT.
  • Maintain Syndicates policy administration systems.
  • Liaise with AdGo and Munich Re, including bi-weekly meetings to address queries.
  • Provide onboarding and ongoing training to staff on underwriting systems and procedures.
  • Own and maintain Individual Authority limits documents; monitor breaches and feedback to management.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc Underwriting Operations issues and act as advisor on related matters.
  • Engage with underwriting teams to promulgate best practices across MRSG.

Key requirements

  • Advanced understanding of insurance principles and Lloyd’s environment.
  • Experience as an Underwriter or within Underwriting, preferably in Lloyd’s market.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and specialty insurance markets and Lloyd’s operations.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with actionable output.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment and adapt to change.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory environment and large-organisational dynamics.
  • Delivery-focused with a drive for continuous improvement.
