Medical Governance Manager

Overview

In this role you will drive ABPI Code governance within Johnson & Johnson, ensuring ethical medical communications across the UK. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to implement and sustain a robust compliance programme. You will review materials, sign off as ABPI signatory, and keep SOPs aligned with regulatory changes. You help the business navigate risk, provide practical Code interpretation, and support regulatory interactions. Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain the UK medical governance framework in relation to the ABPI Code of Practice
• Act as ABPI signatory for J&J, reviewing and certifying materials
• Review and update SOPs and guidance documents to reflect regulatory and business changes
• Develop and deliver compliance training, briefings and guidance for cross-functional teams
• Lead monitoring and oversight activities to identify compliance risks; establish metrics, track performance and drive remediation
• Provide pragmatic advice on Code interpretation for projects, materials, partnerships and new initiatives
• Act as primary compliance contact for business partners with clear recommendations for compliant decision making
• Manage risk assessment and coordinate investigations and corrective actions as required
• Maintain records, prepare management reports and support regulatory interactions or inspections

Key requirements

• Experience with the ABPI Code of Practice and ability to register as an ABPI signatory in the UK (medical doctor or UK pharmacist)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience updating SOPs and creating training materials
• Experience training/presenting to a large audience
