Overview
In this leadership role, you will steer the delivery of services and represent Gleeds externally. You’ll shape strategies to meet business objectives and drive growth across the Business Unit. You’ll ensure projects comply with governance, manage client relationships, and secure resources to deliver high-quality outcomes. The position combines strategic oversight, commercial acumen, and people leadership to strengthen client partnerships and project performance. This is a chance to influence major construction projects and elevate Gleeds’ cost management and service delivery on a global scale.

Responsibilities
- Formulate and manage strategies to achieve business objectives
- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities
- Ensure projects adhere to Gleeds processes and governance
- Negotiate fees and scope of services with the Business Unit Manager/Area Chair
- Maintain and approve appointments prior to service delivery
- Deliver high-quality services aligned with customer requirements
- Review appointment scopes monthly for service delivery
- Manage client relationships and implement customer care plans
- Resolve customer complaints and manage resources across projects
- Lead and develop teams, including Associate Directors, and manage workloads
- Ensure administrative compliance (appraisals, training, timesheets)
- Develop Gleeds cost management capabilities
- Brief employees on Gleeds business aspects
- Prepare bids and manage service delivery for profit
- Oversee commercial aspects (scope, invoices, payments, debt management)
- Collaborate with other Directors and support the Business Unit Manager/Area Chair
Key requirements
- Extensive experience in project and/or programme management on construction projects
- 3 years in a responsible leadership function on major construction projects or frameworks
- Strong knowledge of construction procurement strategies, tendering and contracts
- Extensive knowledge of construction technologies, sequences, methods and materials
- Strong commercial background with contract administration experience
- Understanding of building contracts legislation
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary delivery teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability
- Strong problem solving, negotiation, financial and numeracy management
- Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements quickly
- Proven networking ability
- Specialist knowledge in a specific industry sector (Residential, Hotels, Commercial, etc.)
- Ability to prepare first-class bids and secure profitable fees
- Experience delivering services to clients and managing client relationships
- Experience interfacing with clients and stakeholders at senior levels
- Experience managing multiple projects
